We want our students to be inspired to contribute to society and to become proactive responsible citizens who pursue careers they are passionate about. To deliver this Great Sankey is part of the Warrington and Cheshire Pledge Partnership which enables businesses to work together with schools to provide every young person with everything they need to succeed in the world of work. Students develop their employability skills, the personal qualities needed to be successful in adult life and have opportunities to consider a broad and ambitious range of careers.
Our careers curriculum is built around the Gatsby Benchmark Framework and provides students at different stages in school with relevant educational opportunities, information, advice and guidance to help them make informed choices.

Unifrog
At each key stage, students have access to unifrog – a complete destinations platform - which helps them plan for their next destination by comparing every available opportunity both post-16 and post-18, and to log their interactions with employers, FE, HE and apprenticeship providers. A short video on unifrog can be found here:
There are many options to consider when you look ahead to post-16 choices. For a short summary of the different types of courses see the video here.

We offer our students a wealth of opportunities to learn about post-16 options and future career pathways. We aim to build strong links with local employers to support this. Our y10 and y12 pupils complete a week of work experience and give them a great opportunity to learn about different jobs and the world of work. If you would like to come and speak to our students about your career pathway or are able to take some of our students on work experience for the first time please email our careers advisor Stacey Lowe – S.Lowe@gshs.omegamat.co.uk.
