Last Thursday, 26th September, Â鶹ŮÀÉ held its annual Open Evening, and it was a night to remember! With a wide variety of activities and displays, prospective students and their families had the opportunity to explore everything our school has to offer. From interactive science experiments to exciting PE demonstrations, the energy in the building was palpable, and the turnout was fantastic.
The Science department put on an array of hands-on experiences, including dissecting a heart and showcasing different insects that captured the curiosity of many. Parents and children alike were impressed by the range of experiments on display. PE didn’t disappoint either, with numerous activities such as basketball, badminton, and even a cheerleading demonstration, giving visitors a taste of the sporting opportunities that await.
Over in Maths, the team stepped things up with interactive dart boards, where visitors could try out fun and engaging number games, bringing out everyone’s competitive side. The Computing department drew a crowd with its coding stations, where children could code robots and race them, along with other coding games that proved extremely popular throughout the evening.
It wasn’t just academic departments that shone—there were also games in different areas of the school, with prizes up for grabs, adding an extra layer of excitement to the night. Whether it was the thrill of coding, dissecting a heart, or simply getting involved in a game of basketball, the smiles and laughter around the school were evidence of the enjoyment felt by all.
We were delighted to receive some great feedback from attendees, including this glowing review from one parent:
"Good evening. My husband and I attended the open evening this evening with my son. We were so impressed. The teachers were so passionate (special mention to Mr James - Geography), and we loved hearing from Mr Evans and the children in the Headteacher’s talk. We can see that lots of effort was put in, thank you."
A particularly special aspect of the evening was the fundraising effort by some of our current pupils, who are raising money for their 2025 Camp International trip to Kenya. The students put in an incredible effort, raising over £400 during the evening, with the support of our generous visitors. A massive thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to this important cause, helping our pupils work towards their goal of embarking on this life-changing trip.
The success of the night wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, and students who put in countless hours to make it such an engaging and informative event. We’re proud to have showcased the vibrant, dynamic learning environment at Â鶹ŮÀÉ, and we hope that our future students and their families left feeling excited and inspired.
For those who attended—or those who couldn’t make it—you can see pictures from the event below, capturing the energy, excitement, and creativity that made the evening so memorable.
We’re already looking forward to welcoming our new intake of students next September, and we thank everyone who attended for helping to make this Open Evening one of our best yet.
