On Thursday, 7th November, Â鶹ŮÀÉ proudly hosted its annual Sports Awards evening, an event that recognises the outstanding commitment and achievements of our students throughout the last academic year. This prestigious event served as a celebration of their dedication, perseverance, and excellence across a range of sporting disciplines.
The evening featured numerous awards presented to both teams and individual students, acknowledging their hard work and triumphs in a wide variety of sports. Throughout the year, our school teams achieved remarkable progress in competitions at local, regional, and even national levels, participating in Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Handball, Netball, and Rugby. Their determination and team spirit were evident in every competition, with students demonstrating resilience and teamwork in abundance.
One of the highlights of the evening was the announcement of the Team of the Year. This coveted award was deservedly won by the Under 14s Girls Football Team, who had an extraordinary season, excelling in the Warrington competitions and reaching the final of the Cheshire Cup. Their hard work, commitment to training, and unity as a team have not only brought them success but also inspired younger pupils to pursue extracurricular sporting activities.
The most anticipated segment of the night was the presentation of the Sports Personalities of the Year awards. These accolades were given to students who consistently upheld the highest standards of sportsmanship, leadership, and acted as exemplary role models for their peers. Their contributions both on and off the field set a benchmark for future athletes in the school.
Winners:
- Year 7: Lily Kay
- Year 8: Jessie Barrett
- Year 9: Hudson Hewitt
- Year 10: Jake Pinnington
- Overall Sports Personality: Lewis Spencer
The evening concluded with Mr. Garry expressing his gratitude to the school leadership team for their steadfast support of school sports, as well as the PE department for their unwavering dedication to providing students with ample opportunities to engage and excel. He also extended thanks to the parents for their ongoing encouragement and, most importantly, to the students themselves for their passion, continuous effort, and outstanding performances throughout the year.
Â鶹ŮÀÉ remains immensely proud of the sporting spirit demonstrated by its students, and this evening was a true reflection of the school’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a love for sport.
Congratulations to all award winners and nominees for making the school community proud!
